On 10–11 July\, we are holding the third event of 2026: a 400 km brevet. Abo ut the event A brevet is an international endurance challenge with more th an a century of history. It allows you to test your endurance\, time-manag ement skills and ability to plan. You are not competing against other ride rs — you are competing against your own limits. Simply put\, you will rece ive a finisher’s medal if you complete the 400 km distance in less than 27 hours. Distance: 400 km Time limit: 27 hours 00 minutes Format: self-supp orted Self-supported means that each participant is personally responsible for navigation\, food\, hydration and technical issues. Outside assistanc e is not permitted\, except for services that are publicly available to al l participants. About the route (There may be minor changes to the route.) The route starts in Tbilisi and finishes in Batumi. After the start\, par ticipants will head west and pass through Gori\, Khashuri\, Borjomi and Ak haltsikhe. After Akhaltsikhe\, the route continues towards the mountainous region of Adjara\, passes through the Goderdzi Pass section and eventuall y finishes in Batumi. The route is ~400 kilometres long and includes appro ximately ~4\,400 metres of elevation gain. It combines fast and relatively flat sections with long climbs and descents. The most difficult part of t he route is in the second half\, where participants will have to cross a h igh-altitude mountainous section. Careful effort management\, preparation for changing weather conditions and sufficient lighting capacity are espec ially important in this section. Participants will be riding both during t he day and at night. Temperatures may be high in Tbilisi and the lower-alt itude sections\, while the mountainous areas may experience significantly lower temperatures\, fog\, rain and strong winds. The final and mandatory deadline is the finish closing time. Who can participate Participation is open to physically prep ared cyclists who have experience completing long-distance and mountainous routes\, as well as riding safely during both the day and night. The 400 km brevet is not recommended as a rider’s first ultra-distance event. Part icipants should ideally have already completed at least a 200 km or 300 km brevet\, or a long-distance cycling route of similar difficulty. Due to a pproximately 4\,500 metres of elevation gain and the demanding mountainous sections\, participants must be able to manage their pace\, energy\, nutr ition and hydration effectively throughout the full 27-hour period. Gravel \, Endurance or Cyclocross bicycles are recommended. Riders using a Road b icycle are advised to use relatively wide and durable tyres. Why participa te Brevet 400 is more than just a distance — it is a test of willpower\, d iscipline\, mental strength and time-management skills. Riding 400 kilomet res from Tbilisi to Batumi gives participants an opportunity to test thems elves across different terrain and weather conditions\, learn how to manag e fatigue and prepare for an even longer challenge — the 600 km brevet. Re commendations Download the route to your GPS device or phone in advance. D o not rely solely on internet access or online navigation. Carry a fully c harged phone and a power bank with sufficient capacity. Make sure you have fully functioning front and rear lights. Carrying spare lights or additio nal batteries is strongly recommended. Wear a reflective vest or use other reflective elements\, especially during the night sections. Carry enough water\, electrolytes and quick-energy food such as gels\, energy bars\, ba nanas and other products that you have already tested. Plan in advance whe re you will be able to refill your food and water supplies. Shops and othe r services may be limited in the mountainous sections. Do not use food\, d rinks or supplements that you have not tested before. Check your tyres\, b rakes\, chain\, shifting system and lights before the start. Carry at leas t two spare inner tubes\, a pump or CO₂ inflator\, a tyre repair kit\, a c hain quick link and a multitool. When using a tubeless system\, carry tyre plugs\, additional sealant and a spare inner tube. Make sure you have a w aterproof jacket\, a warm base layer and gloves. Temperatures may fall sig nificantly in the mountainous sections. Check your brakes before long desc ents and control your speed. Ride with particular care at night\, in fog\, rain and on wet roads. Plan a strategy for short rest stops in advance\, especially if you are not accustomed to riding for extended periods at nig ht. Do not start at an excessively high pace. Manage your effort for the e ntire distance\, particularly for the second half of the route. Please not e that the event is held in a self-supported format. The event features a 160 km road cycling race around Mount Aragat s and is open to both amateur and professional cyclists. The total prize f und is AMD 3\,000\,000. Competition Categories Amateur Men: 17–35 years ol d Amateur Men: 36–50 years old Amateur Men: 51+ years old Amateur Women: 1 7+ years old Athletes who participated in national championships during 20 22–2026 Cyclists who participated in national championships before 2022 wi ll compete in the amateur categories. Prize Structure 1st place: AMD 300\, 000 2nd place: AMD 200\,000 3rd place: AMD 100\,000 Participants finishing in 4th–7th places will receive special diplomas. All other participants w ill receive certificates of participation.
